I have 2 DS lites with cracked hinges on the right side and the right side piece broke off completely.  So I called Nintendo and the first time they said that its only the crack on the left that is covered for free.  So I called again and this time the guy said to send it in and they will replace it for free.  Now I still have a DS lite with a cracked hinge so I called this on in.  But they wouldn't let me return it,  I called 4 different people and they all say its not covered.  I thought it was?  This DS has the crack on the left also and that one is covered but they say its physical damage.  So I guess I will just have to keep calling till I get someone like the second time I called.

They replaced both of mine that had only cracked hinges for free. Maybe they discontinued that program though.

When you call, ask them to set you up with an account number if they say yes.  Basically I replaced so many DS Lites because of the repeated cracks, I feel bad.  I haven't heard anyone say that they wouldn't replace it yet.  Maybe people in Canada are nicer.

its still going as far as I know.  I just got one i replaced for a friend.  Aslong as the new ones don't get hinge cracks its all good.

O and I forgot to mention, I've returned both left and right hinge cracks before.

Yea Its weird that they say that the right hinge is physical damage.  I will just keep trying I guess.

O, go say that it has the hinge crack.  Don't mention that it is the right side.  Then send it in ASAP before they find out.  They won't send it back without fixing it, I think.

Yea but I asked one person if I could send it in for the left crack becuase that happend before the right but they said no nintendo would prabaly bill me once they go it.  I not willing to pay $50 to fix it.
