I have:

Nintendo DS (the old type)
Supercard ONE
2GB Sandisk Micro SD card

When i turn on the DS i get this error:

"An error was detected when trying to access the disc or file, please confirm the following:

Did the setup and nomally?

Is the "/shell" folder moved or deleted?

How you enabled the resume function with a media that is not supported?

Do you have enough space on your media?

Please re-format the media and try again.

Please try with a different media from another manufacturer."

Any ideas? It then loads to the shell and i can pick a ds game and it loads fine.

I have formatted the 2GB card. In FAT16. Can this be done in FAT32?
I also have the latest OS.

It comes up every time i switch on the DS.

That happens when launching Moonshell on a slot-2 Supercard as well, so like jmr said, don't worry.  It's normal.

More then likely, this comes up because its 'running' before fully loaded. IE: It hasn't scanned the card yet to locate the shell folder. ^^

I thinks its just a screen that appears before the thing is fully loaded so in case it does not load fully you can see if you forgot to do something. otherwise it loads too quick to read everything anyway.

It's not something to worry about. It's a standard moonshell splash screen that all of us see. It's only a problem if moonshell locks-up with that screen displayed.  Move along . . . nothing to see here.

  it happens to me i taught i got a broken SCDS1 but its just normal

Is this a problem with all the Supercards using this software or just a problem I’m having? Yes its annoying and I can live with it as long as its not a serious problem. Thanks Bill

Hi Bill - as you've seen, you need the system files or it won't work at all. So, what you get is a card that works pretty well, but has this annoying error message when it starts - it's a moonshell error message.

Bill, can you post this on a forum like www.scdev.or so everyone benefits from the answer and let me know how you got on?

I received the Supercard DS and I am having some problems with it. When it boots up I get an error message that reads “Error was detected while trying to access the disc or file. Please confirm the following. Did the setup end normally? Is the /shell folder moved or deleted? Have you enabled the resume function with a media that is supported? Do you have enough free space on your media? Please reformat the media and try again. Please try with media from another manufacturer.”

I am using the Supercard DS in a brand new DS Lite. I purchased a brand new Sandisk microSD 1 GB memory card. I followed the directions and unzipped the Supercard operating software version 1.0 with the shell folder onto the microSD card and booted up. I got the above error message and about 2/3 of my NDS Roms wouldn’t load up. I then reformatted and unzipped Supercard operating software 1.1 to the card. I continue to get the same error message but now more ROMs boot up including ones that previously didn’t. My setup ended fine, the shell folder appears to be fine and I did not enable any resume function. I have plenty of free space (over 100 mb), I tried to reformat and I am using memory from Sandisk. Could you please help with my problem?

What is causing the error message?

I think it's the name of the shell subdirectory

Can I drag and drop ROMs onto the card without software or is it needed for functionality?

You don't need software.

Is it possible that some games will not boot because I need high speed memory?

Unlikely.

What is the purpose of the Windows PC patcher software? I have not used this at all.

Adds extra features, like the ability to go back to the menu without needing to power off and on.

Thanks Bill
