The top screen wasnt working(just white) but the touch was working and the ds was running perfectly, so i took apart the ds to have a look at it but nothing had happend, i clead the contacts on this cuircuit board
then started up the ds but it didnt turn on, i plugged in the ac adapter same thing happend again, so i opened it up again and i cleaned them again and i went to open the little clasp for the tiny ribbion cable and it snapped off, so i can only hold it in. The only way i can get it to start up is to put the brown ribbion cable half in, but the top screen still stays white, i really really need any ones help, please.

hi, i just opened my ds, and i couldnt get it to work at all with the clasp up, so chances are you need a new top set of circuit boards, andi dont see how cleaning them could help, as if there was no connection, it simply would refuse to turn on at all, the screens just flashed, i do not have any spare sircuit boards, so you will have to look on ebay, i cannot really tell what is damadged, do the ribbon cables look broken in any way???

VoX

no, they dont look broken at all, thanks you for the reply

Xenomorph

what is wrong with you people??

Nintendo REPLACES a bad DS.

you send in a bad one, they give you another.

if your DS doesnt work right, send it in. DONT void your warranty by taking it apart.

*NOW* you are screwed.

VoX

do you really think I am that dumb, if you read the rules for warranty you must have proof that you bourght your ds between 1 and 12 months ago and because i brought my ds over ebay I cant prove that I did.

I took mine apart while replacing the shell and believe it or not cleaning does help.  The colors were all distorted and dark, so i cleaned them and then they looked normal.

As for your problem, yes new circuit boards would probably do it, try to buy DS parts on ebay, or sell your parts on ebay and buy a new one or a lite

u no that  a white screen on the top screen means that the big flat cable attached to the screen isn't plugged in properley.
you just have to readjust it and ur fine

I had a white top screen when I damaged the ribbon cable that goes through the hinge. The damage was almost invisible to the naked eye, but through a magnifying lens you could see the slightest scratch on the cable.

Those cables are so frail it's a joke. I'd double-check it.
