i keep getting 5 on the speed test.
the single reason i bought this card is so i can set the speed to higher then 5.
anyone else getting 5 on the speed test with the Ultra II card?
can i manualy set the speed to 28 or 30 or whatever?
will it work ok if i set the speed manualy ?
10x!
:)
p.s. i bought the card from an official store so i KNOW it is real and not a fake.

I read that set it to 28 setting was the best. I have it set at 28 and have no problems.

I've got the same problem, it only lets me set the speed to 5, even when detecting the card speed.

You can set it manually and save it.  Goto menu option and hit SD Speed and set it to 28. Select the  menu called option and select save menu option. NOw your setting is save. Don't use Auto set sd speed. It will give a 5 rating like my did.

I have that card and 28 is the max.

The speed test is wrong/broken/inaccurate.  Trial and error gave me 28.  Any more than that and games won't load.

As a side note, if you enable onboard patching the SC will IGNORE whatever speed you set and instead play roms at whatever speed it feels like.

In fact if you enable onboard patching you can bump the speed up to 32!  But I don't think it's really playing at 32 because games will have all kinds of slowdowns.  The Castlevania: DoS video is proof of that.  Unpatched at 28 it plays smooth as silk, but patched at any speed and it's all stutters.
