can anyone link me to the program that gets rid of dead pixels?  or atleast attempts to.  My friend got his ds from rma and it has one >_<

dantheman

Is it a dead pixel or a stuck one?  Dead pixels you can't fix, though it's possible to fix stuck ones.

this link might help you >_>

sonicwind

I can't really tell what the difference is can you explain?

dantheman

A dead pixel is black, while a stuck pixel is another color, usually red, green, or blue I believe.

Of course I got this info directly from the same Google search link I gave you...

sonicwind

be quiet....... :P so he has a stuck pixel then not a dead one.

yep, just run the flashy tool overnight and see if its good in the morning. If not and its really bothering him he can get the screen replaced by nintendo

real reason I'm trying this is because he just got it replaced by nintendo.  Do people with black dslites have this problem? If not I may be forced to switch since I have already rma'ed 3 ds lites and they ahve all come back with a a dead pixel or cracked hinge.

tennisgy

Its just a problem with handhelds...bad pixels on the LCD screens are common.  Ive had 6 DSLs and 4 of them had stuck pixel(s).  I thought they fixed the hinge problem though :(

I thought they would too in later models but all my rmas have had hinge cracks the stuck pixels don't seem to be such a big problem since you can use that program.

PharaohsVizier

I remember when I exchanged my DS Lite because of the crack and a dead pixel, they used those developer cards to show me each color to show me that the screen doesn't have dead pixels.  :)
