Limitations of the DS wifi lib

The DS wifi lib used in homebrew with network functionality has a lot of limitations.  I'd like to try to get a running list of what works and what doesn't work with the wifi lib.

1.  It works well when I connect to my Buffalo router that's running the DD-WRT firmware w/ WEP encryption.  I use the WFC settings stored in slot 1.

2.  It does not work using a Netgear MR814 router w/ WEP encryption and WFC settings in slot 2.

3.  Supposedly both WEP and DHCP cause general problems with the wifi lib.  Any comments on this?

4.  I can never get connected to public hotspots.  I store the settings in WFC slot 3 and then try to connect w/ homebrew, but it always fails.  This has happened at multiple access points.

i'm not really sure on this but I think that it only uses the wfc settings in slot 1 so when you were trying the other hotspots it was still trying to connect to your slot one router....but like I said i'm no expert...

yes, i also believe that homebrews use the data in your first wifi setting. I got mine to work at a hotspot near me.

It seems that wifilib does not work if SSID Broadcast is disabled (while WFC connects flawlessly). Except for that, no problem here with a Linksys WRT54GL with Tomato firmware and WEP 128bit.

Isn't there also a possibility that a particular public hotspot is G only? My router was set to this before I had my DS and I had to switch it to mixed mode (B & G) in order for it to connect.
