like R4 saves to Supercard or other formats...

i see that there is an R4 save converter from other series, but its only a one way trip... heh (i dont have the card, but i'm thinking of getting one later on..)

or maybe a tutorial for manual hex-editing?

Does the Supercard DS One use teh same supercard save from SC Lite?

sneef

unfortunately the "other way around" has to be done manually AFAIK.

in a hex editor, trim the file down halfway.  Everything after hexadecimal position 3FFFF should be deleted.

correct me if I'm wrong, as I have had to figure this stuff out on my own.  but this will create a 256kb save file consistent with supercard and the like.

Your prayers have been answered:

SuBCeRo (whoever the hell that is lol) from maxconsole has created a slot-1 save files converter for the PC called SavConv GUI v0.2

It can convert 6 devices save files at present, which are as follows: Supercard, M3, DSLink, R4, EZ flasj IV and microninja.
Make sure you have .NET Framework 2.0 or above installed in order to run this program.

NICE GUI :) Thanks for sharing that! have been using max2sc drag and drop was fine but this GUI is much more functional  :D

just tried it with my animal crossing save from m3 simply (i had to select R4 as the save type, because the m3 in the app is the old 257kb .dat m3 save type)

I tried supercard destination file, and it created a new file, in a nice "SC" folder, but it was still 512kb.  no change.. byte for byte.. :?

liquidnitrogen

hey, yeah, i confirm Sneef's response... it doesnt seem to work...

I installed .NET framework in windows and i could not convert a file! The only way seemed to be batch converting and that didnt work... only for M3 .dat files and if i choose that option, it'll create 4kb files.... -.-

anyways, i got the R4 one way save converter to work under wine for linux... had to copy the mfc42.dll to the folder...

Koji

It doesn't convert to slot-2 format, the .sav files for Supercard 1 are 512kb as well if I'm not mistaken. Since both are RAW saves, of course they'll be identical.

Any device that doesn't use a raw format should be shot... Seriously, why is there any need to proprietize a save? It just makes things more confusing for us end users.

sneef

No, the program specifies the target save type and size.  it says Supercard 256kb.  Just to be sure, I tried a number of file types.  each time the source sav file came through unaltered.
