He said that they plan to release a expansion pack for the gba slot that allows you to play GBA roms through you scds1. He also said that it will be sold seprately in about 2 to 3 months.

Also some people say that they think that the Supercard team might release a whole new slot-1 product called SCDS 2, Romman said that they DO NOT plan on doing that.

Just thought i'd share it with all of you.

Not sure I understand that one. I mean...an expansion pack for the GBA slot. Isn't that called a Supercard? :)

Seriously, though. if compatibility is high this may be the thing I've been looking for.

Think of it more like the Opera RAM expansion pack.  It is just RAM with no media card at all.  If this were to come out for either the new M3 or SC product, programs would be stored on the slot-1 card, but then temporarily placed in the RAM pack for execution.  Once the power is turned off, the contents of the RAM pack would be lost.

Obviously this will happen at some time. There is a lot of competition in the backup device area; the same kinds of products come out from all different companies as soon as the technology to do so is available, cost-effective, and popular/desired enough.
Setup: Onyx DS Lite, CycloDS + Kingston 8GB MicroSDHC; Camo GBA Micro, EZIV + Kingston 2GB MicroSD

You would think they'd get all they GBA roms working on the original supercard first.

nyuk, the GBA is slowly dying, and it's probably not worth their time to work much more on it.  Some games simply aren't compatible because of the slower RAM, which is a hardware issue, so no software patch will be able to fix it.

Rayder

Yep, it's likely to just be a memory pak for slot 2.  If that's the case, it SHOULD be cheaper since a regular slot2 SC (except the rumble) already has memory in it, plus all the other chips in it. They may just need to update the SCDS's firmware to take advantage of it.

If any of the SC team reads this, maybe they should have slightly more than 32megs in it.....that way large GBA roms (Yggdra, for example) could be patched with cheats and whatnot that make the file bigger and it would still work.
Current setup:
Onyx DSlite/R4DS/SCminiSD
2gig Transcend card for the SCminiSD
2gig Kingston for the R4DS
4 gigglingbytes of games/apps! WOOT!
