Does anyone in the forum have the skills to take a look at some DS save files dumped using my action replay max duo, and compare them with Supercard's new .sav format and see what the differences are?

I have some saves (nintendogs, advance wars) that i worked hard on, and want to use with the new system, but can't seem to.

anyone know what is possible?

haha.. never mind.. using cory1492's 2mbit edition of etool, i have been able to do everything i needed.  Thanks!  :)

NP ;)

You can actually use the AR duo saves, you need to use the AR program to uncompress (if you are using the beta version firmware, saves are compressed now) and then you can hex edit the .dss file and remove the AR header - essentially keeping the last
2mbit - 262144 bytes
64k - 8192 bytes
4k - 512 bytes

for the 64k and 4k ones you will need to hex edit those bytes into the beginning of the save created by the SC patcher - I tested this method with a 2mbit Nintendogs save I grabbed from the online community area of the AR app and it worked like a charm, although it claimed the file was corrupt it fixed it and Spike the daschund was there to greet me...

thanks for the info!  that's just what i needed to know!  and your 2mbit etool build is excellent..

the only concern i have is that now "format eeprom" is part of a list, rather than assigned to the select button..  I almost accidentally selected it on my nintendogs cart!  hehe.. scary.  anyway, great job!
