yeah, i have not ordered one yet. It is my choice and willl order after they actually send some out. I have the D2B chip in mine. So i want to make sure no issues like they state. It seems to be the one to go with ATM. If a better comes out in a 1yr or so. I will just buy it as well. As it is like buying 2 games.

Just looking for the best to order from. I eagerly await your trial of it. You have to let me know how it goes.

@ sneef, any luck with the cyclowiz yet?

I told you guys we need a general thread! Seriously... a thread pinned in the general section to post things too short to make a thread about.

Crap, guys I really want to get my Wii modded but I can't find a decent reseller for me. And also I'm afraid I'll botch up my console if I were the one to open it up. T_T

yes.  I just got an email from the retailer.  Apparently they are almost on their way.

what a bunch of retards. seriously.  With the length of the delays, I am just shocked that they aren't doing refunds by now.

[edit] forgot to explain what they emailed to me.  they said the chips are being sent to the distributor tomorrow.  this means (supposedly) that the retailer I ordered from will receive theirs soon, and then I'll eventually receive mine.  I wish I hadn't gotten involved.  [/edit]

did you guys see the recent release info on the wiip (well i know devs saw it as he posted on wiinewz.com already)

Quote from: "www.wiinewz.com"The company behind the opensource Wiip modchip, TCN-ISO, has apparently paired with Team Xecuter for their Wii project. According to an email...

quote
Our first batch of PCB boards should be completed shortly and available
in Taiwan. Our US distribution office in San Diego should have a limited
quantity of 100 on or around the 27th. Of that initial production, we
have it split 50 for review (respected modchip resellers in USA and CA),
and 50 for private sale (for which most of them have holds from current
TCNISO members). We are also partnered with Team Xecuter and they will
also be providing / manufacturing Wiip chips as well.

The Wiip is just a simple ATMEL 2313 microcontroller (AVR series)
running some code that we made and packaged in a small PCB board with a
couple capacitors and a resonator. The genius thing about Wiip is that
it has all of the features a modchip should have; complete upgrade
ability without any restrictions. The "cyclone" chip uses a SX series
microcontroller, but had those [guys] actually read the datasheet on
that part, they would have noticed that while it operates at 3-5 volts
it requires 9-12 when in programming mode. The AVR does not suffer from
this drawback and can be programmed directly from the parallel port of a
computer (in serial mode). What that means is any unforeseen problems
can be fixed via firmware. Although I havn't seen any problems involving
the disc rotation speed, I will keep an eye out for it as we have only
ran Wiip with a couple of scene releases (Wario, WiiPlay, etc.).

As for the board, as it is very small, we decided it may be best not to
solder the 10-pin programming port into the board. Thus leaving the port
open. This would still be useful because like our Blackcat product, we
will be able to provide solderless adapters for the programming port.

That may turn out a solid product with team-xecuter.com behind 'em
