Koji, thanks for having an open mind.

"Hi", didn't anyone ever tell you that video games will warp your mind!

Dippin can be addictive.  I started using it because of peer pressure and did not like it at first, but I found out that it served its purpose for other useful reasons.  First was when my friends and I would be drinking (peer pressure again) I would throw in a dip for awhile and not drink as much and not be hung over the next day.  The second thing is a little gross, but I would always have this problem that I couldn't go to the bathroom in the morning and then it would hit me as soon as I got to work.  However, when I have a dip in the morning I would be good to go in about 5 minutes and take care of business at my house. 8)

For goodness sakes, quit spending money on things that can kill you.

If people didn't buy tobacco, our government couldn't fix the holes in the street without taxing us. :)

But in England (where we're used to being taxed to hell and back) Tony Blair sells tobacco, taxes us and still doesn't fix up the roads! Instead he's going to start taxing us BY THE MILE.

They still tax us... and spend the money else where... LOL

I don't know how you smokers do it.  Cigs are so expensive, you need so many of them, they make you stink, give you bad teeth, give you cancer, make people around you cough or with enough exposure, also get cancer and stink...  For the financial reasons alone I'll never try smoking.  Not to mention the unethical advertising tactics the tobacco firms use.  You're not just willingly submitting yourself to slavery and death, you're going so far as to pay for the previlege.  I just don't get it.

Koji

The only thing worse than the unethical advertising tactics the tobacco firms use, are the unethical advertising tactics of the ANTI-smoking lobbyists.

Yes it's good to let people know about the health risks associated by cigarettes... But in the end it should be up to the individual what they do and don't do. Everyone has their own vice, everyone has their favorite poison... Mine just happens to be a video game addiction <_<

Also, if you say "I think I'm going to go smoke a fag." in America, people get offended. :(

Go smokeless.  A pinch is all it takes.

Just the cost does it for me.
I couldn't envisage putting that money into something that will shorten my life. It's like paying to die.

Your life shortens every time you wake up.  Breathe.  Eat red meat, french fries, salt, etc.  I don't recommend dipping or smoking to anybody.  But there's a lot more things out there people do daily that shorten their lives.  I'd like to see that in the next TRUTH commercial.

You're missing the point though. They speed up the process.

But people have fun with it... so if that's the price they're willing to pay it's their choice.

Yeah, a pinch is all it takes.  To get a harmful lifelong addiction certain to shorten your lifespan.  So addictive!  Woohoo!  I know, let's see if I can get myself addicted to arsenic too.  Or rubbing alcohol.  No, I've got it!  Don't let the tobacco companies get their hands on this one - carbon monoxide!  We'll be so cool, we won't even need to roll em ourselves because we can get it straight from the tube!  How X-treemely k00l, yo!  I can already feel myself becoming more popular and dangerous!

Koji

Altor, do you drink soda or tea? Just wondering... cause if you do... have you ever heard of a little thing called caffiene? It's quite addictive... gives you withdrawal symptoms if you stop taking it... and has been shown that over time can lead to a shortened life? There are literally a million little things that can cost you some time on this earth... If you obsess over every little one you won't find life very enjoyable. As I said before, everyone has their vice. Whether it be physical, chemical, or mental.

Amen!

Just to clarify, I never said it would kill you, just that it will shorten your life which it will. I never said nothing else would shorten my life?!

Oh hell, SUGAR gives you withdrawal symptoms.  It's all about balance.  I drink one coffee a day to get me started in the morning, and that doesn't harm me.  Besides that, I drink all-natural energy drinks with no artificial ingredients or added sugar/sweeteners, just fruit juice and herbs.  Damn good stuff, way better than red bull or any of that crap.  Soda?  I mix it with my rum.  And it's been scientifically proven that a little alcohol a day (equivalent to 1-2 shot glasses of 40% alcohol) is very good for you.

Coffee isn't harmful in any way unless you consume excessive amounts of it.  Moderation, that's the word.  And no matter how "little" your "pinch" is, you're slowly killing yourself.  It's not about how they say that a pack of cigs reduces your life by 1 day on average, it's about the reduction in quality of life.  Non-smokers can be healthy and live a good life well into their 50s or even 60s before they start to slow down if they've lived well.  Not so with smokers.  You're a slave to corporations that have directly or indirectly led to the death of millions of people.  To even draw a comparison between tobacco and caffeine is so indicative of how desperate you are to justify your self-destructive habit.

"Caffeine, in the form of coffee, has shown to significantly reduce the risk of heart disease in the elderly" - Real harmful.

Or read this, where it makes a point-by-point analysis of caffeine's effects: http://www.benbest.com/health/caffeine.html.  There are no health risks of any kind unless used on the order of 80-100 cups of coffee within 6 hours (the time it takes for caffeine to leave the system entirely - unlike the chemicals you're taking in, which take months or years to be fully expunged)

Everyone has their vice?  What a load of crap.  Live a good life, share it with somebody, die old and satisfied and in your own time.  Sounds a heck of a lot better that what tobacco users will go through, poor health leading up to their early death, spending much more time in the hospital than others, and generally being a drain on the society, doing nothing but benefiting some of the richest people in the world - tobacco bigwigs.
