I was just wondering if anyone had any skins for the DS-Linker, N-Card, UFPEX, Express Card, MK5, etc?

I doubt anyone does. But I just thought I would ask.

Thanks a lot.

well, i don't have skins but the wallpapers can be changed by putting whatever .bmp files you want (of the correct resolution) into the "roms" folder of the Ultra Flashpass EX 1.23a firmware folder.  then when you run the batch file corresponding to your cart size (8 or 16Gb) it will flash the cart with the graphics you put in the folder.

this will flash with UltraFlashpass EX firmware, but they're really all the same thing.  I mention this method because the only brand that had the rom-building tools (that I could find, anyway) was the Ultra FlashPass EX.

Yeah, there's like a changeskin.exe in the Roms folder of the UFPEX download.

So, am I suppose to run that to change the wallpaper, or just run the 8G_NAND.bat(or whatever it's named) again?

Also, I'm kind of confused how to make the wallpaper? I mean, you mentioned it must be the correct resolution. So what size is the wallpaper suppose to be too? Can I just open an image in photoshop, that I want for a wallpaper, and scale it down to the correct size? Or is there somewhere I can just download .bmp images?

Thank you for any help. I don't know why something so simple is giving me so much trouble.

not sure about the changeskin.exe.. that's probably the right way to do it!  i was just experimenting and did it by reflashing the whole firmware.  maybe that's unneccesary.

The correct size is 256x192... but you could have found that by just checking the bmp's that are in there already ;)

yes, you can just save any image as a bitmap, at that resolution, and it will work.

i borrowed some from nice moonshell skins, since they are the same size

Lol, yeah. I did find out the size from looking at the file.

Well, actually I just made a Dawn of Sorrow wallpaper and loading disc. So, I'm going to try it out right after I backup my whole card(which takes like a half an hour for a whole 1Gb). So if it worked, than I'll post in case anyone wanted to use it.

weird thing is they say you have to back up everything, because you have to reformat before it can be used again, but after flashing my firmware, I was still able to play all the games without formatting..

maybe it's a fluke.. haven't tested extensively, and it could be that saving was broken or something.  I dont' know because I went ahead and ran the format tool, just in case. (to follow directions)

There's the Dawn of Sorrow wallpaper I made for it. I guess it's not bad for my first. It's been then the default UFPEX skin.

So, you don't format before flashing the firmware? Because the reason I backed it up, is because I format it(hold Down, and button combo), then after that, I held Up, and the bottom combo, to re-flash the firmware.

So do I not have to do the format step? Can I just leave all the games on there, when I make a new skin, then just flash the firmware over?

EDIT:

Now that I look at it more, I need to put a different picture on the touch screen. I used a screen capture of the game, and it kinda has a little bit of a grainy look to it. And for some reason, the circle I used for the Loading symbol, didn't show up as transparent. So the corners are showing up for some reason. I need to figure out how to get to show up as transparent.

EDIT AGAIN:

Here's a Luigis Mansion one. And it looks a lot better. I made it because this is my girlfriends card, and she loves this game. The Loading symbol I made is a red original DS, since that's what she has.

So yeah, this one looks better.
