Everytime I try to run a rom on my DS it locks up about 1-2 minutes into play.  I have tried 3 different microSD cards.  Could I have a defective unit?  Anyway to fix this?  Help would be greatly appreciated.

can you list the microSD's you have?

perhaps you should try setting the microSD speed to 1x?

Cards I have tried:
Kingston 1gig formatted to FAT
Kingston 512meg formatted to FAT
Kingmax 64mg formatted to FAT

I tried to set the speed to 1X and it did play longer but eventually it locks up.  I tried the Autospeed selection which selected the speed at 30 but that definetely didn't work.  

Any ideas what could be wrong?

It could be defective. Does it feel like something is sticking out underneath the label? If the answer is yes, your this is more likely the problem. Contact the store you bought you sc from and ask for a replacement.
