Hi

Well, my supercardsd went through the wash today by accident.

I was worried at first but I found out that my supercard sd worked fine. It was still able to play gba and nds games, as well as serve as a ram pack for opra.

However, three hours later, it's not working. Whether this is related to the wash, I don't know. However, the thing cannot act as a ram pack with for opera, and always says "Cannot find sd card. Please Turn off Gba."

So I ran a self test. Here are the results
_____________________________________________________________

Test SRAM
SRAM ok!

Test sdram
sdram error:
*A bunch of numbers and a few letters. If somebody tells me they are important, I'll post them. But there are alot of numbers. I'll don't want to go threw trouble for no reason*

Test flash
flash id ok!
flash ok!

Test SD/MMC
SD/MMc error:
error code:03
Now SC Version:1.62

Please say this can be fixed somehow. I'm already have problems with my hard drive and am really short on $$ I REALLY don't want to have to buy another supercard sd!!!

edit: If I take out the sd card, and put the supercard sd into my nds with no sd card inserted, my nds won't detect the supercard sd at all.

edit again: What??? Everything is working fine now. And the self test doesn't detect anything wrong. Something really wacky is going on here.

edit yet again: Okay. So for a second, I thought I'd figured it out. "The problem is with my sd card, not my supercard sd." Unfortunately, it seems I was only half right.

While switching sd cards will make it work or make it not work, it doesn't always work on a certain sd card. Does this make sense or am I not writing clearly?

Anyway, so my supercard's half broken. The problem clearly has something to do with the sd cards, but I don't think that the sd cards are broken - it's the fault of the supercard. I think. I seem to have a very wierd problem.

Maybe it was still wet?

I've seen peeps take keyboards and other various computer parts, sitkc 'em in the dish washer, let them dry for DAYS on end, and then plug 'em in an go.

As far as I know, sdram error is not something you can fix. I don't know how easy a Supercard is to take apart, but if it's not too hard you might want to consider giving it a good cleaning. Your real worry is corrosion and even fungus from the water. And if you take the SD card out of a Supercard it doesn't do anything. I just tried it.

Hi

Okay, my sd cards are defenately not broken. The computer has no problems reading them. So, the problem lies withen the supercard. And yet, as I already said, the problem has something to do with sd cards because when I swap sd cards, the supercard breaks/fixes itself 1/2 of the time.

The supercard should be easy to take apart. It seems to be heald together by a mere two screws. Is it important that I take my sc apart quickly. It's a bit late where I am and I don't want to start a project- if you get my meaning. But if it's a matter of life or death for my sc...

edit: I won't be taking anything apart tonight. You see, I'm supposed to be in bed right now. The screw driver is not in my room- it's down stairs. And my dad is also downstairs. I can't get the screwdriver.

But it does for me!

edit: Things are getting even wierder. I was actually playing a gba game on my supercard sd. I then turned off my nds for no spicific reason. I turned it back on to find that nothing worked again.

I just don't get it, how can something possibly work great for a while, stop working, and then start working agian. It just doesn't make sense.

No, I meant. If I put in my SC with no card in it the DS just goes to the main menu and doesn't see the SC at all.

And go to bed. :)

EDIT: Per your edit - It might still be wet and the water is intermittently shorting out connections. Leave it be for a while. If it is still wet you might make it worse by messing with it.

oh, phew. So atleast that's one less problem I have to worry about.

It's Friday. I don't have school tomarow. Nor am I tired. I can stay up to 3 in the morning and it won't matter, what do I have to wake up for tomarow?

Your spelling tutor?

Hi

When should I try my supercard sd again? It's been three days (including today) since my supercard sd stopped working.

Hi

Well, I tried it, it still is not working- most of the time. It works sometimes still, meaning it can't be completely broken right?

Hi

Well, now it's not working at all. I've got to be more careful. This is the second thing I have broken with water (the first being an nds)

Do you think I should sell it? (Here) In other words, is there any chance that my sc isn't gone for good?

p.s. The actual selling would go in the marketplace section of this site in a new thread. I just want to know if there is any hope.
