Hi all

i want my wii wiikey'd

but... i want to know some stuff. :wink:

is there a seal in the wii ?
wiikey option backup cd to sd card ? dont get that one..
what is all included ? with the chip?
will the wiikey be full compatible for ntsc games on my pal wii?
and updates for the wiikey is on what site ? how is the service ?

some more i need to know before i buy this wiikey modchip..
how can i backup my own wii games ?

Seal in the Wii? Google for videos of taking apart the wii; there are looooads.  You need screwdrivers, perhaps a razor and a tri-wing screwdriver.

Backup to SD card? Dumps WII/GC games to SD card. You don't need a 4g card as it will do the disks in chunks and you put them back together on your PC.

Included: Generally just the chip; some vendors include wires and a triwing but you pay more for that.

The multiregion stuff is generally about 70% compatable across all modchips atm. Some NTSC games work; some don't. Wiikey say it will get better in future.

Updates are on the wiikey.cn web site. So far the service has not been that good; the GC audio fix doesn't work and the updates have been delayed apparently due to all the clones flooding the marketplace.

You can back up your own games by buying a certain type of DVD-ROM drive ( google for wii rawdump ) it only works with a few drives. The other option is to use emu-kidid's SD disk dumper. You need a SD->GC Memory Card adapter - called a Gecko.

Question :

soo its like . i pul like wii sports inside my wii and i backup to a sd card
and then i put a part on my computer and i have like a other part when i clean the sd card again?? like rar ? to use r00 / r01 / r02 or something ??

and do the wii support the 4gb sd cards then ?? someone told me not :roll:

At the moment all the wii chips are roughly the same; aside from the wiikey which needs this GC audio fix.  I've got a wiikey though and am very happy with it.

You need a Gamecube Memory Card -> SD adapter to use the dumper. It has no limitations on the size of SD card you use.
