UPDATE:

Installed my cyclowiz today.  Maybe I'm crazy or suicidal, but this was my first electronic soldering job. haha.. it worked though!  i was pretty nervous.  to be honest, the quicksolder thing isn't THAT great of an idea, because the PCB of the cyclowiz is not flush with the mainboard of the wii, so its hard (for a first time solderer) to create a bridge between the smaller points on the board to the cyclowiz without using too much solder and shorting the connections. anyway, it worked!  woo hoo.

I hope it holds.  I put a little piece of masking tape over the chip to sort of secure it to the board.  Is this ok?  not sure if that will cause any problems, or is a bad idea.  I used the papery kind of tape.

thanks for any input.

after more than a month of waiting, it finally arrived. version 2 cyclowiz.

and the retailer still has the nerve to send me advertisements for new products!  As if I'd choose their particular shop again.

anyway, the thing is TINY.  i didn't realize how small it was since most of the photos didn't have a human hand in them, to give reference to the size.

I am nervous to install it myself, since I've never soldered a PCB.  I've only soldered large things, like audio and video cables, about 10 years ago.  Any of you know someone in HI 967XX who is an electronics engineer? lol

anyone know if what i did with the tape was ok?

DeVS

The tape is fine. I superglue my solder points and then put electric tape to keep it attached the board.

would superglue make it hard to desolder in the future?
