battery chargers

Not sure why I'm asking this here but I can't be arsed to make an account at a more appropriate forum :)

I've got two cameras, the canon ixus 850 (or sd800 in the US and ixy 900 in asia) and a sony cybershot T9. The problem is, I can't find the T9 charger so would it be safe to wire up the canon charger to the sony battery?

The chargers are literally battery chargers, where you have to insert the battery. I've looked at the specs and both have outputs of 4.2v 700mA. Normally, I wouldn't hesitate with Ni-Mhs but these are Li-Ions and I just don't enough about them.

Well as long as they have the same output and then it should work
