well as the topic says I need to know if there are any huge differences between the Chinese and English...Just noticed that the 30 dollar one from Winsunx was only $30 because its the chinese version.  What is so bad about it that they wouold have to make it cheaper?

they're the same thing

though if you buy from winsunx and your in the states, the shipping is about $20

so it'd be $30 + $20 = $50...

haha...

anyways, the chinese version uses the chinese firmware. other than that. there is no difference

oh and i believe since they market to English customers... they charge a couple of dollars more because they know we'd pay it.. haha

So If it uses the Chinese firmware, I am assuming its chinese.  Is there a way to make It english or will it not matter much?

The older ones could be changed from English to Chinese using a hardware mod, but the newer ones have modified designs that make this very difficult and not worth the bother.

I am going to China and if I manage to find an R4, would it be worth getting a  Chinese one?

What issues will I face, and won't just running the English firmware make menus etc. in English?

From what I can tell, the English firmware will not run on the Chinese version.  You'd have to (de)solder the language switch on the chip, which is incredibly difficult with the newer revisions.  It would be less hassle to just buy the English version.

I would go for the Chinese version... in fact I did buy the Chinese version.  The only thing you'll be missing out on is seeing the words "English Version" on the top screen.  And you will probably save a lot of money.

So I assume, you can't install the English firmware, but it doesn't matter because the only difference is 'English Version' words.

Well, I'm actually going to China so, unless I don't see one...
