Now that the new firmware is out i decided to flash my NDS with flashme, so i dont have to have the super pass sticking out of the top of the DS all the time. I flashed the DS using the guide here,

http://ds.gcdev.com/dsfirmware/

and everything went ok, 100% complete etc. But i still have to have the super pass in the DS to load the DS roms up other wise i just get a white screen. I though the whole point of flashme was so u didnt need the super pass in the DS anymore??

yes, the word is spreading slowly but surely at the moment.
even if you have a flashme installed, you *do need* a passme to boot the supercard. you can even remove it afterwards, but you can't run any games without having it inserted first.
not sure what the reason is, the most common idea is it's a bug in the current sc firmware.

So the older firmware worked without a super pass in at all then? Is there a safer way to take the super pass out of the DS slot, as at the moment i just have to tug at it to pull it out, and it never makes a health nose when taking it out

yes, it used to work without a passme, but an original ds cart was needed :-(
now it's the other way round...
I'm pretty sure it will be corrected soon, anyway, as romman probably didn't test it with a flashme unit.
but I won't take the chance to systematically remove the passme while the ds is on in the meantime...

I have flashed my DS wifh the ''flashme'' firmware update and no longer need to use the hardware passme which sticks out of the unit.

Before you switch on your DS, hold down the keys X,Y,A,B all together. When you do this, you will find that your Supercard boots up and all NDS games will be playable (no longer needing a passme). I do not know why people say you still need a passme to boot up your Supercard because this is not so.

Also, I have been using the new Supercard firmware and this still works.

Hi Lettuce,

I just flashed my DS too, and guess what? I was having the same issue as you did, and I was using Super Mario 64 DS. This cart was the one I had in my passme when I flashed, but when I use the same cartridge after flashing, it was like you said, i get a white screen when loading roms. So I switched over to Kirby Canvas Curse as the original cart in the slot and it worked! No more ugly passme sticking out!

Moral of the story is, just because an original cart worked with Passme sticking out, doesn't mean it will work with Flashme. Good luck!
