Hi @ all,

I want to update my firm to my new SC Lite. Booting the bin file the device says: This is not an English Version. Is it not possible to flash the SC Lite (perhaps Japanese Version with such cryptical letters on top line) with the English FW 1.7 ?

Any help welcome !

No, you cannot flash the Chinese version SC with English firmware.

The updater performs a check that prevents english firmwares from updating chinese units. It is an intentional behaviour from the SC team.

The patched firmware discussed in this thread circumvents the region check, but in my case it breaks DS binaries running (only GBA work when I update, so I have to go back to the regular chinese 1.70). Give it a try but at your own risk.
