Supercard & Flashme issue

Hi,

I noticed an issue with the supercard and flashme, i don't know if anyone is facing the same problem.
When i start my DS with flashme(A+B+X+Y), i get the supercard menu, but then anything i load gives me two white screens.
I was using the SM64DS (EUR) as the genuine ds cart and as i have read that this cart did not work very well for this purpose, i did not investigate more.
But now, i have seen that the new firmare (1.52) was fully compatible with the flashme. So i tested it again, but i get the same result.
This time i made some more test :
1/ Flashme + Passme + Genuine SM64DS : Works
2/ Flashme + Genuine SM64DS : Does not work, but i get in the Supercard Menu
3/ Flashme : Does not work, but i get in the Supercard Menu
4/ Flashme + Passme without any DS card : Works
5/Started Flashme + Passme, once in the supercard menu, i removed the Passme before loading the nds file : Works

In all cases, i get to the supercard menu, so the flashme is definitely working as it is loading in nds mode.

So i guess this is a bug in the supercard firmware. Maybe it is looking for something in the DS card when starting that messes everything when loading any homebrew or rom. It could also be related to the DS version i have. In case it may help, my DS is an european version and its serial number starts with NEF102xxx.

I would have post this message to the official Supercard forum, however it  is unavailable for the moment. In the mean time, i don't know if anyone is facing the same problem, but any help or info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
JP.

puzznic

thank you for taking the time to clearly state what the situation is.
I don't have any answer, but I'm experimenting here the same behaviour.
I'll keep an eye on the topic for help and understanding :-)

SM64 is most likely the culprit.  Try a different cart.

same results with a large set of different carts form different origins.
the fact is, you can even play without any cart at all as long as you have the passme inserted.
weird.

satanduck

I had the EXACT same situation as you a moment ago and i was using SM64DS...

It worked in the Passme so I thought it should work with Flashme... WRONG!
swapped over to Kirby and I'm ALL OK!

with firmware 1.50, mario 64 (european) worked perfect
update to firmware 1.52 resulted in white screens unless i changed the retail ds game. strange.

MisterJP

I don't think the problem is related to SM64DS as i can start anything with a Passme whithout any DS card behind it.

Dont you have to hold down, a,b,x,y while turning on the DS, to get it to work without the super pass etc??

Yes with flasme installed you hold down a,b,x,y at startup to start flashme. If you dont hold down those buttons it boots to normal DS mode.

that's the most peculiar part of the story.
with a flashme ds, and all the good parts done with the relevant good software of course, patched games are only running fine if:
- i boot with an empty passme inserted, or if
- i insert one among a few specific ds cart (nintendogs is ok, castlevania is not for example)
all the other combinations just fail with two white screens

look

I've had intermitant double white screens with metroid in the DS slot.

Seems if I take it out and put it in again it works ok.

I've a flashme'd DS with CF supercard
