Been looking at The Following.

Trancend 1Gig
Sandisk 1Gig
Generic (Unbranded)

Also are there any pitfalls with the 2gig varients of the above.

Just want my software to run as smoothly as possible.

Thanks

The fastest ones are the cheap Toshiba ones marked with "SD-C01G JAPAN". Well, they run Castlevania Portrait of Ruin (one of the 'benchmark' games)
It will definatly be fast enough for a flashcart BUT if it has that serial number and it's made in TAIWAN not JAPAN you're in trouble. The Taiwanese ones are inferior and are much slower and you will have problems with some games.

So if I can't lay my hands on a SD-C01G JAPAN should I go for a Sandisk or Transend?

As they are big names, am I being silly in thinking that they will be fast enough.

Thanks Again

Mike

Supercard Lite runs most games full speed, its not that picky...

devilmann13

cheap sandisk 2 gig cards work fine. the sc lite is really good about card compatibility.

sonicwind

the sclite patches games so you should be safe with pretty much any card as long as it runs :D

Transcend is the way to go if you can't get a C01G

Thanks for All your help.

I have just found the Toshiba C01G (JAP) for £8.99 delivered (1 Gig)

Will be ordering shortly.

The Integral ones I sell as 'OEM' also are marked SD-CO1G Japan and work as fast as the Kingston I sell (they also have the SD-CO1G JAPAN part num on them) but the Transcend 1GB Micro-SD I saw recently did not have the SD-CO1G part number.  Someone told me that Transcend make all their own stuff, so maybe there are no Transcends with the SD-CO1G part number on them?

It's also worth considering that, in future, you might buy another card and would want to get the memory with the widest suitability, all other things being equal.
