I've just grabbed Cooking Mama but it's the NTSC version. So I patched it to PAL but I  was reading Wii Region Wiki that the NTSC version could brick your Wii when it try's to update your firmware.

How can I tell what version firmware is on me Wii now? What version does Cooking Mama update too?

I can't update me Wii via online as I don't  have wireless connection. So far the only update I've had is through SSX Blur.

Can anyone help??

Go into your Wii setup menu, it'll tell you the current version.  Not sure what good it'll do though, it's just something like... 2.013 or whatever.

You have a PAL wii if you bought it from a PAL region, NTSC if NTSC, etc.  Don't interchange the games.

To take a wild uneducated guess, if you put an NTSC game in a PAL console, it'll just not let you run it at all, forget updating the firmware from it.  That is, unless you have a modchip, in which case, don't download games, just make backups of your own-region games, you dirty pirate! ^^

PS, cooking mama is apparently a bit of a stinker compared with the DS version.
