using firmware 1.7 and software 2.58 Mario kart seems to run almost alright leaving all the save options on.  If I turn off Real time save, restart, and saver patch it runs worse.  Is there any way to speed it up? I thought removing those options were supposed to speed games up, but it makes this game run like crap.

is there a patch for this game to run smooth?

forgot to mention I am using a GBA sp and not a DS

http://scdev.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5554 has some information on what you can do to speed up GBA games, but unfortunately I have still only found mirrors for FastRestart, not pfpatch.
