I cannot save any game correctly in supercard. I create a .sav and a .sci files with supercard software, but in gba i cant save correctly any game, and, real time save doens't work in my gba.
What i need to do to save correctly?

sneef

what version of supercard software are you using?
and what firmware (kernel) are you using?

This will help diagnose the problem.

I have the same problem, i cannot save any game on sc.
if i start "normal save" or "real time save" with the key´s it seems to work (i got the messages and so on ...).
but if i try to load a game after power off and on of my GBA SP it always starts from the beginning...
i use sc-software version 2.41 and the cernel version is 1.50!
maybe this is a newer problem, because i wonder that no one complained about this in the past.
does anyone know what to do?

sneef

in the supercard menu, under the "options" tab, is "auto-load saver" checked?

it should be, in order for your save to be loaded when you start the game.  if not, you have to do the key combination within the game, and load your save.

Thanks sneef!
Yes, "auto load saver" is checked (i checked all information about how to set the options correct, i really think they are OK!)
In the SC Software I checked the following options: "Saver patch", "enable restart" and "enable real time save"
As I already mentioned, i dont get any error messages if i do "normal" or "real time save" -> it counts up and the "game saved" message (or simmilar) comes.
But after restart GBA or (!) load with the key combination within the game it alway starts from new (as if the .sav file wasn´t really stored, or still is empty as after new generation)...
I already tried different (new) SD-Card´s but I dont thing this is the problem.
Any more suggestion?

well i was able to realtimesave with the combination even though i did not check realtime save option and then i had the same problem like you it saved, the % meter counted up and when i clicked load nothing happened.

well i dont want to use it anyway! when you use the ingame save function (regular game saving in the game) do you do the save to sd method? you need that because your saves will get lost if you dont!

you need to enable restart when patching, and when you want to exit your game. click l+r+start+select, move to the "saver" tab, select the sav file according to your game and click a and confirm that, then it saves on sd and your savefile is saved!! you need to do that because otherwise the savegame wil get lost in the supercards sram

Thanks sYph0n!
Sounds good! I will try this at the weekend (i can´t do it at the moment) an give a reply.

OK, now I tried a lot but there seems to be no 100% solution.
Here are my experiences:
*) If a game has an own in-game save menu you need to use this option first and then additional use the normal save hot-keys L+R+A+select.
Then you can reload you save using the in-game save menu.
*) Games without own in-game save menu seem to work like this:
Use the real-time save hot key´s :L+R+B+Select and klick save.
Then use L+R+Start+Select, move to the saver tab, select the sav file of your game and klick A to "save  to sd".
-> The same procedure with the normal save key´s L+R+A+Select did never work with one of my games ...(?).
After this you can restart your saved game directly after starting it using the real-time save Keys L+R+B+Select again and use the "load" option.
But there is some strange behavior: You must use the hotkey´s quite quickly after starting the game, otherwise it hangs up (Black screen).
Another strange behavior i noticed is, that the graphics of the game is "shrinked" after using this Load option. You have to move to another scenery of the game to fix this.
*) At last i have to mention, that I never managed to use the Auto load option even so it was checked. After starting a game it always was at the beginning and I had to use one of the "load" options I described before to return to my save.
Maybe someone has even more experience and can give more hints how to save games. Thanks a lot so far to all who gave me informations!
