more confused about .sav than ever

Well with the new firmware for the Supercard DS one I'm now able to run pokemon pearl with the 'enable patch' box ticked.
I thought, finally, I'll now be able to replace a .sav and have the game load it

This didn't happen though. No matter which .sav I use to replace the current file when I load the game all it says is
"File is corrupted, loading last save"
And then it loads the original save file that was on the card before I replaced it

So somehow, and somewhere the card is keeping the original save file, and is able to use it to replace any changes I make

Is this perhaps something intentional? In order to minimize replacing .sav files in order to cheat your way through a game? Or is this just something that has a solution that needs to be worked past?

start a different game on you supercard then knock it of & then swap your pokemon save
the supercard leaves the last game you played in memory till you knock it back on again

Thanks for reminding me about that

I've tried that over and over before the update

But now with the 2.0 firmware I guess it did the trick

thanks again

What? o_o; The Supercard isn't using the .sav? Where is it saving then?

I think it saves a backup in SRAM too. Whenever i delete the save file off my microSD, it regenerates when i run the game and the save file is still there.
You CAN however delete the pokemon save game using a button combination on the title screen (don't remember exactly, but it'll tell you the button combination if you press new game with a saved game already existing)

So how exactly can I make it start to create .sav files for me?
