EDIT removed wide code
I know, I just added a carriage return after each semicolon so this thread would be more readable (see how your output makes this thread very wide), otherwise the output values are exactly the same as above.

I'm trying to help get this all straight to avoid confusion for others. If there are 1s in the prefix then they should be left alone. If there are 2s in the prefix they should be changed to 0s and vice-versa 0s to 2s. According to your findings changing all other prefix values to 2s appears to work in many cases. So far, this seemes to be how AR codes should be formatted when they are put into dipstar txt files and before they are converted to CHT files with dipstar2cht.exe

vitius

I kinda see what you guys mean. Sorry I didn't have time to read up on it but I'm still a tiny bit confused.

Ill use this AR code as an example: (Mario Kart Press L for Star)

923d629a 00000200
6217bc2c 00000000
b217bc2c 00000000
2000004c 0000000c
20000054 00000001
d2000000 00000000

First of all, I'm not exactly sure if SCDS1 will support this code because I'm assuming that because of the 9 prefix on the first line this code is constantly writing....
I'm guessing I can just change the letters and the 6 to 2's. I also tried swapping the 0s to 2s because bitblt said to swap 0s with 2s and vice versa.
I'm not sure what to do with the nine or if i even can do anything with it.

I've tried the following variations before converting to dipstar format:

223d629a 00000200
2217bc2c 00000000
2217bc2c 00000000
0000004c 0000000c
00000054 00000001
22000000 00000000

923d629a 00000200
2217bc2c 00000000
2217bc2c 00000000
0000004c 0000000c
00000054 00000001
22000000 00000000

223d629a 00000200
2217bc2c 00000000
2217bc2c 00000000
2000004c 0000000c
20000054 00000001
22000000 00000000

Am I doing something wrong or is this code not compatible with SCDS1 because it's not write once? Once again, sorry I didn't have time to read through the websites linked in this topic.

EDIT: btw changing the 9 to a 2 makes the game crash during a race

I'm not sure what to do with 9s yet either. I'm having trouble with Pokemon Diamond cheats that have 9s in the prefix. Perhaps it's because they are "constantly updated"? I'm not sure.  I'll have to try things later when I have more time.

New DSLink came with a ton of Pokemon cheats but they are all in Chinese but work great on the SCDS1. I guess if you are really itching for some Pokemon cheats then you could use those.

Dudu.exe

Last time ive tried to download something from their site the files was infected with trojans!

so i recomend to not download their software..  ( poor DS-Link owners.. infected by the producer! )

I didn't get it from their site lol so I didn't get infected with any trojan. Here's the trojan-free link hosted by GBATemp in case someone still wants it

I've searched and found nothing about a translator...

I think you need to switch spyware programs. Norton and AVG detected nothing on my end. Plus I installed it just fine  8)

Dudu.exe

trojan are make to install just fine anyway...

i´ve never had trouble with avast ( i had with norton and mcaffe )...

i realy trust avast =p

I prefere a fake alert then intall a possible trojan that is not on virus database!

That is cheating 754boy!  LOL  I thought this thread was supposed to be about making custom CHT files, not using cheats created by someone else. Using standard CHT files with SCDS1 is too easy.  ;)

Dudu.exe

well he can post this CHT files content !! so we can view the differences between the AR codes and theses ones.. and make a tool to convert AR directly !

Sure he can post them. The problem is DS-Link CHT files are in multibyte Chinese characters and are not readable. Does't Action Replay have some kind of technical documentation about their format? I'll have to do some more google-ing when I have a chance.

saady87

hmmm, iv always wondered this, but why always use action replay codes, what about codebreaker codes, wouldnt they also work?
hmm, eversince i got the ds one it seems that i dont ever finish a game..b4 when i actually bought games i always finished them...makes you think
