Sega's biggest enemy has always been, and still is, Sega. Sega released the Saturn early basically without telling anyone, including most retailers. They also announced the Dreamcast way too soon. That's an example of why the Saturn died. Sega decided to release a $20mil game(the most expensive game of all time then) on the Dreamcast just a year after its release. According to Wikipedia, "almost everyone that owned a Sega Dreamcast would have had to have bought the game twice to achieve that [sales] goal". That's an example of why the Dreamcast died.

Sega just doesn't strike me as very smart.

The only one of those systems I've never played is the Pippen. I wonder how much one would go for on eBay(there are none listed now)

Sega Dumped the Dreamcast in favour of doing what they do best .............. MAKING THE GAMES  :)

Although the dreamcast ROCKS and still does for a RETRO console :D

you can emulate quite a lot of stuff and homebrew on it without a lot of hassle as its windows CE based :)

That doesn't surprise me though. A ton of people never knew how great that console was/is. Stupid people.
