Hey, your friendly neighbourhood Weasel here.
Supercard SD. I've applied the correct cheat file and all (Eng) that comes with the 2.60 software. I've also updated the SC firmware to 1.80 (or whatever the newest one was). When I boot up the game, the screens blink black and white a few times and then get stuck on white. This doesn't happen for any other games.

I'm using a Mario Kart DS rom:
Saver Patch
Enable Restart
Enable Add Cheat
Enable Real Time Save
Saver Patch: SD Card
ROM Position Patch: SD Card
Enable Restart
Faster Play Game
Enable Patch Cartridge Access
Enable Cheat - (MKDS .scc file)

Any help as to why this is happening? The ROM works without the patch applied.

I would guess maybe that the .scc file is not right .... does the default one from 2.60 software work for you ?  (it should auto find it for you, just tick 'enable cheats')

otherewise.. try giving your mem card a fresh, full FAT format  ... always worth a go imo

I would try turning restart off and faster game play off and if DMA is on turn that off too
