Sounds like a pretty good cart. Although, it is just an R4 with a couple other features, right? I guess the download play is a good thing, but that's something I rarely ever use. But it's nice to know if I ever want to use it, that I won't have a problem with it. I wish you could've tested it with a Taiwan microsd.

But anyways, eventhough there isn't too much that impresses me about this cart, I am still going to get one. I just gotta wait until RHS gets them in, since I really don't want to order from anyone else. I was going to get a DSOne, but this seems like a better cart.

Thnx guys.  Unfortunately I don't have my 1GB Sandisk to test anymore, nor do I intend to pay like $20 for one when I can get perfectly fast Kingstons at DealExtreme for $13.  Maybe if I can find one cheap, I will get one.

In the meantime, I have 2 things to say:

1.  I will continue to update the CycloDS Evolution review as they come out with more features (if they do).

2.  DS Database will have a new chatbox soon so that you can ask questions and whatnot, unless you guys think it is a bad idea.

Please, I'm not trying to criticize your revew, but their are some things you didn't mention in it that could easily be considered downsides of the cyclods evolution and I'd like to know what you would comment on them. Thank you. Here I go...

1. The "boot up to three bottons" interface doesn't sound fantastic. I don't own any carts that use it (R4, R4's clone the M3simply, I recall their being others but I can't remember...) but according to gbatemp it's not very nice. Wouldn't this maybe be a con of the cycloDS?

2. You may say that the CycloDS is worth every penny. What makes it worth every penny? It doesn't really sound that much better than the SCDSONE. All it's got ontop of the SCDSONE is an "Enhance mode", is this mode really that nice?, Download play support, which IS nice but worth that much?, SDHC support, for cards that, atleast right now, still really cost to much to be of much use, and auto-DIDI patching, which can "Become" a feature on any flashcart by using DSorganise. Is that worth so much more money?

Sorry for annoyingly sorta contradicting your revew. I don't own the cart so I can't really say, but I want to know your answers.

"Worth so much more money?" What, a few extra measly dollars? We're not talking twenty, or thirty, or even ten extra dollars. Just a few. And while a few extra dollars may make or break a couple people, to most, it's not a big deal.

Well in terms of the "three buttons" issue, I didn't say it was a bad thing nor a good thing.  GBATemp may think it is bad, but I think it is decent, and I didn't take any points off from the R4 review either.  I try to be consistant, somewhat.  Anyways, For the three buttons, I never really even thought of it as a bad thing or a good thing, more of, it is there and it works.

I think the CycloDS Evolution is worth every penny because it does a lot of little things right.  I understand that auto-DLDI is available with DSOrganize, and that SCDSOne has some great features, but for the average user, the CycloDS Evolution has a lot of features that are easily accessible.  I recently let some of my friends use the CycloDS Evolution, and they can do things such as cheat, change brightness in game and use homebrew, even though they are completely new to this.  Sure, you can try out more complex stuff and it will work, but I think ease of use is a very important "feature" as well.  It is one of the reasons R4 became so successful.

Either way, I can see your point of view, you have been using flash carts for some time, and DSOrganize is in no way complex.  That is why it is important to read more than one review before you choose your flashcart.

Another nice review :]  Are you getting those free review carts yet?  If not you should be.  I really like the pics and vids you show off in your reviews    About the auto DLDI though.  Does it patch the homebrew every time you boot it?  DSO seems to.

Edit-Just wondering, I think I have seen that MicroSD reader before.  Is it the same as the one which comes with R4?

Thanks tennisgy!  Yes I am getting review carts, just look at the bottom of this review, it is from Team Cyclops.

For auto-DLDI, I am pretty sure it patches everytime, not one patch, I may be wrong though. 

Yes that is the first generation MicroSD reader for the R4s.  They are notorious for going bad, but the one that came with my CycloDS Evolution is still working great.

hmmm........ cyclo gets 8.7 but G6DS real gets 9 I don't know if I can trust gbatemp's reviews that much anymore.  It seems like the cyclo has more features and less cons yet gets a lower score.  does anyone agree with me on this?  This just might be my next cart if they continue to release firmware upgrades and keep up support because I want that dlplay compatiblity to play with friends

Unlike my scores, I don't think GBATemp's scores are relative to other carts.  I don't think it is bad or good, but I think it is misleading.

they are relative, when their G6ds review first came out I questioned them about it and they brought up points about how other carts were rated to back up their score.  This cart still looks very promising I hope it works out well.

The CycloDS Evolution is quite better than the G6DS Real. My damn G6DS Real review sample doesn't even work anymore. It became corrupted once to many times and now just stays at a black screen. I am almost done with my CycloDS Evolution and I tested every aspect from battery life, slot 2 compatibly, DS download play (over 50+ titles), and anything else you can think of.

I changed my mind after reading the GBATEMP and Dualscene reviews. I bought one. A bunch of new features for few extra bucks.
