so basically we just download the kernel again and copy paste over the previous files right?

and one more question. on my micro sd (i didnt upgrade yet), i have two _DS_MENU files for some reason. one says its a DAT file, and the other says its a system file (this takes up roughly four times the space as the DAT file). did i do something wrong to create these two files?

If you're not using custom themes, you can overwrite all the old files on your SD card.  If you are, just exclude the themes directory when you copy.  The hidden files are normal.

Yeah, all I did was copy over the .dat file that was already on my cart, with the one from the 1.10 download. And then, I just copied my themes folder that was already on my cart, and replaced the themes folder in the 1.10 system folder with it. Then finally, just copied that system folder to my cart. I don't use moonshell, so I didn't have to mess with any of that.
Setup:
White Lite
Slot 1: CycloDSx2GB Kingston Japan, Supercard DSOne+1GB Nokia(J), 16G G6 DS Real, 16G DS-Linker, R4x1GB Kingston(J),
Slot 2: G6 Lite
PSP: 3.40 OE-A

My install is pretty stripped down as well.  I have removed the the GBA border along with deleting Moonshell and substituting DSorganize.

yea but anyone know why i have 2  _DS_MENU files? one of the _DS_MENU files is a dat file while the other _DS_MENU is a system file. whats going on?

I have no idea kent. I would just copy your games, saves, and themes to your computer, then format your microsd. And just throw the new firmware on it.

okay good idea, but i just realized how i got another the DS_MENU system file. i clicked on the DS_MENU DAT file in the r4, and it said there is no save, and asked me would i like to create a save file. i clicked yes and i guess thats how the system file came up...

i likewise clicked _DS_MSHL.nds (the file) in the r4 games menu and it said the same thing, so i created a save. we were supposed to do this for this moonshell, right?

NT

The R4 will complain anytime you try to launch an NDS file that doesn't have a save created.  Even though Moonshell and most other homebrew doesn't use the save files, just create one so the warning message goes away.
