okay how and what do you convert the nds files to run in a sc CF with a flashed DS? The sc converter doesnt seem to convert as the files dont run when booted from the SC. I must be doing something wrong.

What do you mean?  The converted *.dsq files should launch file on a Supercard CF, as long as you've booted into DS mode correctly (both screens should be on).

What exactly happens when you attempt to launch the DSQ files?

Are you using the latest firmware and patcher?  And are you sure you have the CF versions of both?

It would also help if you told us what you were trying to run.  Commercial games need to be patched with the Supercard patcher, but for homebrew the only thing you might need is DLDI patching.

well i was trying some homebrew, namely ds lumines and a nds dumper. I'm using 2.58 version which im guessing maybe the the most recent CF sc software. And firmware 1.71. I noticed there were ones more recent than this but wasnt sure if its compatible with the cf version. And i didnt always get dsq files but i know now what to look for.

Anyways, the dumper probably won't work out so ill just fall back on my plan to use the m3 lite to initialize the dumper and the gbamp to store the dump. I hope this plan works and am open to anybody's comments whove done it this way.

Again, homebrew should not be run through the Supercard patcher.  For something like DS Lumines, just put it directly on the card and launch it.  You may need to patch with DLDI, but to do this you should install DLDIrc and use the right-click menu option that appears for *.nds files.

The latest firmware is 1.81/1.82 (hold L+R upon bootup and press A a few times to see what you have) and the latest patcher is 2.6.

When patching commercial games, the patched files appear in "C:\Program Files\SC\Out" by default.  That's where you'll find the *.dsq files and the *.sav files to copy over to your card.

if i remember correctly DS lumines doesnt accept a DLDI patch as its one of the older ds homebrews. I could always try again though. thanks for the advice.

edit: looks like the core game of ds lumines is working. the game menu seems to offer other options but ill have to play around to see if i can actually access these.

DLDI is not needed if the homebrew program does not require filesystem access.  DLDI is just dynamic filesystem code that allows the same homebrew to access the FAT filesystem of many different devices.  If the program doesn't need to access the filesystem, DLDI is unnecessary.
