So at tehskeen.com, emu_kidid is a member and i pm'd him with the following question...
QuoteHey, sorry to bother you but i find it is better to go to the source than try to make a rumor a fact.

I have read on a couple of boards that you have been commissioned to make the update for the wiikey. Is this true? If so, is there a timeline to completion?

Thanks in advance,

heyyouguys (aka onekelly)

P.S. Love your GCOS multiboot program!

And here is his reply

Wow that is amazing!  I guess I have some resoldering and stuff to do, unless WiiKey updates within the next week or so.  :(

What is your hurry to change so quickly? Isn't your wiikey working for you at this time?

Since the big issue concerns lockups when playing a small number of GCN games that use streaming audio, what happens if you play an original game disc that has streaming audio?  Is that affected as well?

DeVS

It is affected as well unless you install a switch to turn off the chip. It does not make the game freeze I beleive it just makes the audio sound like static and unable to understand what is being said or music thats playing.

Wow, that sucks.  I gotta have Ikaruga working on my Wii.  I just got my DuoWii chip the other day.  It has no mention of the audio fix, but it does have a disable mode, so hopefully I'll be OK.

DeVS

The DuoWii does not have the audio fix I do not believe and is not upgradeable. If your able to disable the chip then you should be ok with playing original GC games with no audio problems.

It's a damn shame the dude never emailed me back about the OpenWii.
