According to this article ( http://appletimes.blogspot.com/2007/07/sony-to-launch-cheaper-playstation.html ), Sony intends to make their psp lite actually cheaper than the current cost of a PSP... I think.

It would be a good idea IMO for Sony to match Nintendo's price. Their argument that the PSP is better and therefore costs more isn't holding up even if it is, in tech specs, true.

I don't think Sony can afford a price cut right now. They are bleeding money at the moment and do not have the deep pockets that M$ or Nintendo has. The company was in the red even before the PS3 came out as they are getting killed in the music player department by apple and in the TV department by Samsung, 2 places they once dominated.
