Is it broken?

I've got a supercard 2 (the SD one with the bounty hunter from Star Wars picture on it) - it's flashed at 1.7.

The card's been OK for about six months, but has stopped working the last week (seemingly for no reason - i.e. I hadn't tried flashing it to a newer vesion).

Anyway, when the DS fires up, I get a white screen on the top and the supercard logo on the bottom.  I've got another supercard and superkey, and a few SD cards, so have tried a few different combinations of SDs/superkeys/supercards.  No matter what I try, just can't the one supercard to work.

I've done the pressing L+R while powering on, everything tests OK (no error messages), yet still it doesn't work.

Have tried to flash to a new version, but as I can't get to the menu screen, can't apply an update :(

I notice that when it is powering up you can see the menu for a fraction of a second before the white screen appears.

You reckon the card has just given up?  Time to get another one?

have you tried reformatting your memory card and leaving it blank?

also, try reformatting then putting a .bin firmware (1.81) onto the card, then when you boot the ds, even if you dont see the update, press A a few times anyway, see if it shows up

I had this problem while using the supercard on a gba

try using it while the ds is being charged, thats wat fixed mine

i think its because the battery is gone or something,

Tried with a formatted SD - no joy.  (SD works OK as it shows up on the other supercard I've got).

Tried with it on charge too - no difference.

boot up the firmware update on the working card, then switch to the broken supercard. if the ds reboots its itself insert the (broken) supercard without the sd in

ten press a to flash

I must be missing something on the last message...

I boot up on the working card - no problem...  As soon as I insert the broken card, the DS resets, but boots up to the white screen at top and the logo at the bottom.  Tried pressing 'A' a few times but nothing happens.  How can it flash if there's no SD card in it and the DS has reset?

I'm having the same problem...

Did my SuperCard die?

People with Supercard Lite should try this firmware recovery method . . .

1. Format the MicroSD card.
2. Copy the (correct) firmware V1.7 file on it. Don't copy any other files.
3. Insert the MicroSD card and SuperCard Lite.
4. Open the DS power switch, don't care about the screen and wait 5 seconds.
5. press "A" button. You will find out that you can upgrade to V1.7

If you have a Supercard CF, SD, or miniSD then you can download DarkFader's FlashMP.rar
http://darkfader.net/ds/files/flashmp.rar

FlashMP is a homebrew program that will restore Supercard firmware to a much older version. You will need to swap your working Supercard with your damaged Supercard after starting the FlashMP program. (You need a memory card inside the broken Supercard.) If your DS shuts off after the swap then try quickly pushing one side of the Supercard in first. FlashMP will only take about 15 seconds to restore the firmware and will display "Done!" if successful.

(Note if you have a working SCDS1 (or other slot 1) you can simply run FlashMP with the slot 2 Supercard already inserted. With SCDS1 hold the SELECT button during power up to boot slot 1 instead of slot 2)

After running FlashMP you will need to hold A+B+X+Y to boot the Supercard menu. Once your Supercard is working again you can then upgrade your Supercard firmware to 1.7 -> 1.80 -> 1.81 in that order.

If you still can't get FlashMP to work then you can try my free Supercard firmware recovery service.

Sometimes the problem is with the memory card not making proper contact inside the Supercard.  Try a little bit of folded paper to apply slight pressure on the memory card.

Hmm can't seem to fix it...

Can I get more information on your service?

Did you read the link I gave you? It explains how I run FlashMP.nds with DS 'Download play" by using WiFiMe/WMB. Another technique is using a slot 1 Supercard to run the FlashMP.nds program with the broken Supercard in slot 2.  My service is free other than return shipping. You can simply send a pre-stamped bubble envelope along with your Supercard.  PM me for shipping information.

Just to let you know, your method worked for me with my broken Supercard SD, using a spare Supercard and Darkfader's fix.

Thanks bitbit!! :)
