NDS games slowdown on SC SD...

I have problem with slowdown in few NDS games on SC SD (like MegaMan Star Force). Sometimes game tends to stop for a second or two.

As far as I know, DS games shouldn`t have slowdowns:

QuoteThere is absolutely NO slow-down of your NDS games during gameplay.

So, do I have to buy faster SD card, or maybe just switch few options when converting game.

BTW: I have flashed DS, SC SD,and Kingston 512mb card...

have you patched using FASTER GAMEPLAY ?

recently some later games need to be patched COMPATABILITY to low for them to run correctly  :)

try these options see if it removes the lag or slowdowns  :)

Faster gameplay is default setting. And low compatiblity didn`t worked. Thanks anyway.

in that case ....have you tried without faster gameplay?

It works for most people with just RESTART ON and COMPATIBILITY on HIGH  :)

*sigh* All the same... But I think it is rather fault of a game.

And slowdown is not so annoying anyway (1-2 seconds of dark screen between virus battle and map)  :)

But if you found something, please let me know.

There is the possibility of something wrong with your SD card or even the Supercard. Does that SD card work reliably in other devices? Do you have a different card you can try/borrow to see if that fixes it?

There are faster SD cards. All of mine are SanDisk 150X, but as far as I know you shouldn't need anything like that.

I found a fix of this problem... kind of...

Game can be played without a sign of slowdown if you select "Super Card" instead of "SD card" as "Rom position patch" in the game options menu when patching a game.

But the game loads 30 seconds after selecting it from SC menu. And MMSF series doesn`t work with restart function - so when I mess something in game, I have to wait again.

This is propably source of this problem (Setting rom postion patch on SD card).
And other games work rather fine, so probably this applies to MMSF and other games with same problem.

However I can live with slowdowns, more than with slow game loading.
If someone finds how to fix it, please let me know.

That definitely sounds like it's the SD card that's too slow then, if loading the game from the Supercard's RAM makes the slowdowns stop occurring.  DS games normally stream data from the SD card into the DS's RAM, and it's going to pull the most data when switching stages or in screen transitions, so the slowdowns become most obvious then.

Thanks for explaining that for me - so it`s fault of SD card?

Now I am wondering what`s better way of solving this:

-Quicker SD card (how quick should it be to play comfortably, without slowdowns?)

or

-Slot1 card (and which one: DS Linker, Super Card DS One, EZ Flash 5, R4 or M3 Simply)?

Of course if worse slowdowns will occur in more games.

F**k, I bought a faster SD card, and it didn`t helped. Maybe it`s a fault of rom/Supercard?

And I played few other roms (Like MegaMan ZX or Lunar Kinghts, MegaMan Battle Network 5 DS had only saving slowdown - 1 or 2 more seconds) and everything seemed fine? Maybe it`s just compatiblity issue?
