Hello! I'm looking for a NDS homebrew or something that have the power to backup/restore a original GBA cart's save! I have the files, and its all correct, so now I just need the program! Thanks!

Any sollution is much appreciated!

NT

The only way I'm aware of to do that would involve a GBA cart linker such as the one that comes with the EZFlash carts.  There's no way any homebrew running from a Supercard can communicate with a GBA cart because you obviously can't have both in your DS at the same time.

SendSave by chishm (Michael Chisholm)
=====================================

This is a utility to download saves from and upload saves to GBA cartridges.

Installation Instructions:
==========================

You will need Xboo Communicator by WinterMute.
1. Install Xboo Communicator by extracting all the files in the zip file to a directory.
2. Copy UserPort.sys to %WINDIR%\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS, where %WINDIR% is the directory windows was installed into.
3. Run UserPort.exe, click Defaults, then click Start, then click Exit
4. Copy SendSave_mb.gba to the place you extracted the file xcomms.exe.
5. Test xcomms.exe by running it, then click the GBA icon and select SendSave_mb.gba, without the GBA connected. If "No response from GBA" appears, then the driver has been installed successfully. If not, then read UserPort.pdf for further information.

Usage Instructions:
===================

You will need to have everything installed, a GBA, a GBA cartridge that supports saving and an xboo cable. You will also need VisualBoy Advance and a ROM image of the game to test the saves.

To download a save from the cartridge:
1. Start xcomms.exe
2. Insert the cartridge into the GBA while it is off.
3. Connect the GBA to the computer using the Xboo cable.
4. Turn on the GBA while holding down Start + Select so the Nintendo logo disappears.
5. In xcomms, click the GBA, then open SendSave_mb.gba
6. Press L+A+B on the GBA or press R on the PC.
7. Wait until it says "Okay to turn off GBA".
8. Turn off your GBA.
9. If any of the text was corrupted (and you aren't confident in the error checking code) then go back to step 4.
10. Rename GBA_Cart.sav to <name of game>.sav, where <name of game> is the name of the ROM image of the game.
11. Copy it to your VisualBoy Advance save directory.
12. Using VisualBoy Advance, open the ROM image for the game.
13. Try to load your save game.
14. If it works then congratulations you have just successfully downloaded the save. If not, go back to step 4.

To upload a save to the cartridge:
1. Copy the save file to the same location as SendSave_mb.gba.
2. Rename <name of game>.sav to GBA_Cart.sav, where <name of game> is the name of the ROM image of the game.
3. Start xcomms.exe
4. Insert the cartridge into the GBA while it is off.
5. Connect the GBA to the computer using the Xboo cable.
6. Turn on the GBA while holding down Start + Select so the Nintendo logo disappears.
7. In xcomms, click the GBA, then open SendSave_mb.gba
8. Press R+A+B on the GBA or press W on the PC.
9. Wait until it says "Okay to turn off GBA"
10. Turn off your GBA.
11. If any of the text was corrupted (and you aren't confident in the error checking code) then go back to step 6.
12. Turn on your GBA normally.
13. Try to load your save game.
14. If it works then congratulations you have just successfully uploaded the save. If not, go back to step 6.

... OK, that's cool. But I looking for a bit easier method... :?

I've seen the GBAMP CF and the SC CF thing. That would be useful for me, but I have the SD version... I have anything to do with the SD version? It's work? :? :?

... Or another method I like is that I have 2 GBA and a Multiplayer Cable, and I have to run on a GBA the SD - in here have the program, and then link it with the other GBA and backup/restore the save.

It's possible?

(Note: The GBAMP method is perfect!!! But the only thing is that this not working with the SD version... but how I get to work?)

I don't know if this'll help, but you can try it...I had a problem with my saves one time, the main .sav worked, the real time saves did not, so I loaded it all into VisualBoy Advance, and it loaded correctly. I then ran out of the dungeon and found the nearest save point, and saved the game.

I then put that all back into my SuperCard CF flashcart, and continued from my save, and did a real time save. Everything went back to normal, quite a relief.

EDIT: Nevermind, you're talking about a original GBA cart's saves. Sorry haha.

Ouh... not so good. But this method is was fine, but I have the SD version and that's not working the same as the CF version (instert...).

Okay, from now on, I just need to restore my original GBA cart's save. Using the "gba_save.zip", on my SD, I will didn't have to succesfully explore the save file to restore the original GBA cart.

So Im now need is clearly a SC SD MP Save.gba program that will works with the SC SD's filesystem.

Thanks all! i'm jsut need this!!!

I can't understand you, it sounds like jibberish.

What I got from what you said is that you need to do this - take the .gba file and drag it onto dsbuild and then rename the file that is made to .nds
dsbuild comes with the moonshell package.

So sorry for my jibberish english! I'll try this. Thanks!

Okay, I did this... I did everything I have to do, but nothing worked. I had a 1KB file from the 56KB... :S Okay, I ran it from my SD, but nothing worked.

I'm on the "GBA Backup utility Tool" for GBAMP CF/SC CF. (The "gba_save.zip" if you download it) I ran this gba file on my SC SD, I'm just need to RESTORE my original GBA cart's save with my save file that is now on my SD. Then, I pressed the "R" button to Restore. I've seen the "pick the save file from your memory card" explorer, but It's nothing seeable... (The picking menu looks like the Rein's pick menu from SD) I think why this occur - It's for the CF version, not for the SD.

So now my problem is that: I'm need a GBA Backup utility Tool for SC SD, wich has only have the tórestore and it will have the ability to read my SC SD's filesystem, so I can pick my save file = and load up, then i have to remove my SC SD, then insert the restorable GBA cart, press A to restore, and complete! The file has been restored to the original GBA Cart. Then I boot up my original GBA game, and I've seen the save file.

If it's work, then my problem has solved, and thanks to eevryone who has helped.

Now I'm waiting... for it.

Another alternative is, there is a gba save device that some websites sell.  I bought it from a site, but it turned out that they were out of stock, and haven't got any in in the last 3 months.  search for gba save back-up device

link to one below

actually the above link sucks for payment options.
