Quote from: "moviecouple"Do you think the DS-Link is worth getting over the Supercard System? Is it that much better? Do more things?
No, I think the DSLink is worth getting if you already have a Supercard.  Both cards work well together.

Since everyone is now making a Slot 1 device... don't you think that Romman with release one too in the near future?
I hope so.

Quote from: "moviecouple"OK. I have poured through this thread and want to get a bottom line.

If you only want to run DS games, then yes I think it is. However, unlike the Supercard it doesn't do GBA or homebrew.

I have both in my DS - a DS-Link and a Supercard MiniSD. You can modify the header of the Supercard so that holding different button combinations when you boot loads a specific device, without having to remove anything from the DS slots.

I have a question too. I just ordered the DS-Link and am trying to get the English patching software. Everything I download from the website (even that says English) seems to be in another language when I install. What is the deal? Can anybody point me to English patching software?

Its only the installer thats in non english, once you fire it up it will be english.

There is an option in the program (once installed) that switches it to English. It is the middle bubble button at the bottom... 2nd pull down menu... 3rd one down changes it to English.

Been playing around with the card alot. The quality is great! Easy to use, the menu system is simple and quick, and the compatibility rate is awesome. DSOrganize (special version from their site) works great even with the Homebrew database, IP's image viewer works great, and moonshell works great too. Definitely pleased with this purchase!

I'm working on a review of Slot 1 cards for Dual Screen Radio and currently, this remains my favorite slot 1 card.  I've been hoping to get review copies of the Supercard Slot 1, Acekard, and DS-X, but I'm not hearing back from the developers on getting a unit for review.

You know how Dev's review says it supports download play, but it doesn't.  I'm guessing it supports a higher number of download play games than Supercard, so is there a list somewhere of download play capable games for the DSLink?

I can loan you my DS-X darkuni (PM me).  It's collecting dust currently. The DS-X works well with fatlib homebrew. The LEDs are cool too.  It's just the damn 512MB that makes this card only useful to me as a development tool. However, so far the USB debugger is only vapor ware.

Some download play works, some doesn't. Remember it's the patching of ROMs that causes download play problems.  I don't know of a reliable compatibility list.  Someone needs to send DjoeN a damn DSLink. lol

What you are implying bitblt is that clean rom support will let download play work right?  But that can't be right either, download play doesn't seem to work with EZ Flash V's clean roms...

Clean ROMs in theory should allow proper download play.  In reality none of my slot 1 solutions (DSLink, DS-X, SCDS) have perfect download play. I guess slot 1 developers need to work on that theory more.

Is ther a normal compatibility list somewhere for the DS Link?
