Okay, I am very excited for Pokemon Diamond and pearl, but due to the fact that it is not possible to play this game without having a flash cart (in this case the supercard) in the GBA slot. So my question is, if I have Pokemon Fire Red/Leaf Green etc on my super card, and I also have pokemon diamond and pearl on my super card, am I able to trade between the two ROMs, or is it impossible?

i wouldn't think so becuase that would be using 2 files at once which i don't think is possible.

GBA Union is for games that use both games at once.  Something like Harvest Moon, where when you play Harvest Moon DS and have the GBA cartridge inside, you get hidden items and bonuses.  GBA Union doesn't work as if they had 2 games running.  Therefore you can't trade.

From how I imagine it, D/P will read the GBA header and if it's correct, it'll jump to SRAM, from where, it will trade the Pokemon (and of course, edit it appropriatelly. Therefore, you'd just need to run your Pokemon ROM, save the SRAM, do QPC, run D/P with GBA Union enabled and it should work ...

forgive me if I'm wrong but even if you had the original DS and GBA games in your DS you could only play one at a time - couldn't you ?

Seeing as the DS doesn't link to the GBA via a link cable it'll be interesting to see how they do this with the original games, if it just reads the sram from your gba game so it knows what you had on that then maybe the gba union won't work but I bet it could be changed, basically until something is out we won't know

I wonder if it will work with DS-X or DSLink

DS-X or DSLink in the Ds slot, F2A without bootmenu (direct boot) with gba pokemon in it

I'm thinking the games will simply read the save game off the GBA games - which means it could work if you could have the save loaded into the sram. Although probably only with a patch applied to diamond and pearl themselves.

it wouldn't work because hes trying to trade a gba and a ds game. gba=1screen ds=2 screen 1+2=3 not 2 which is the amount of screens you have so it woudln't work.
Edit:also he wants to play 2 roms at once which i don't think is possible.

O I get it, nvm about my post, I misunderstood.  Yea I guess it should work.
