Hi guys.. just wondering if any of you use Ubuntu 6.06 (dapper drake) or debian linux?

kaymm2

ubuntu is my favourite distro.  Used it on my macbook as well as my server.

nice.  using ubuntu at home now.. with KDE packages also installed, so I can do a session in kubuntu or ubuntu/GNOME.

pretty sweet...  if you are using mac OSX, have you checked out all the darwinports for darwin freeBSD?

[edit] know of any good sources for debian packages?, or how to add some other repositories besides the multiverse/universe stuff? [/edit]

Debian user here :)

If you're looking for debian packages, first check the official website of the program you want for repositories. If it doesn't have any, google "xxxxx debian package" or search apt-get.org:

http://apt-get.org/

And to add package repositories:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Repositories/Ubuntu

Don't use Debian packages on Ubuntu though, it might bring some unexpected problems and broken dependencies

i know.. that's why i use aptitude ;)

anyway, i was just wondering who else uses debian-based linux around here... one issue i'm having is getting java pps to run properly.. I'm on an athlon 64 3800+, and running ubuntu 6.06 x64

but, on x64 i'm having all kinds of random issues.. when i run 32bit ubuntu on my machine i have zero problems. lame.. 64bit processors are useless at the moment.  i have similar issues with vista 64.  guess i'll have to run 32bit OS for now
