Hi all. I have not a windows machine. There's a way to get the games work on the supercard under linux? The supercard software doesn't run with wine

ratx

I've had it running under wine without problems... whats the problem you're having? I'm afraid there is no alternative for running it with linux...

Works? how can you do it??
It installs and starts correctly, but when i click on "add", ok i can add games, but when i click on "out" it says me: "open file error", then "complete" and the .nds.dsq and .sav are generated but are unusable (0 byte or if grater, such as 32MB, gives me white screens when i try those on supercard)...

Where is your output dir? It needs to be in your windows C drive (try setting it, not sure how I did that).

yes i set it in C:/program files/SC/out...why doesn't it work?? :(

Scor

Try unzipping the files, not opening the .zip but the .nds.

yes, shure thefile to be patched is .nds, i open it when i have tp patch a rom..other suggestions?

ratx

Can you post which files you've attempted to patch, the resulting md5checksum of non zero outputted files and which patcher and firmware version you are using...

This will help us diagnose the problem further

thanks

ahhh...yoyu mean C drive, with windows? pertitioned in ntfs? Because i meant /home/username/.wine/drive_c/program files/

Scor

I mean /home/username/C or where ever your wine C drive is.

ah ok..then it doesn't work..I'm trying to patch nanostray.nds but i tried other games wothout success. Now i tried again..this time supercard software didn't generate any file..

Hi, I just joined this forum, as I just bought myself a NDSLite & co. today, so hi to all :).

I've been a PSP user for quite a bit, and I was quite skeptical towards the NDS, but as soon as the Lite came out, I immediately liked it... and now, even though I've only tried a couple games, I've definitely changed my mind: pure fun, and it rocks! Yes, I'm quite old-school :).

Anyway, let's get back on the topic: I'm a GNU/Linux user too, and I can say that the SC program works fine under Wine, but I'd prefer a native version, as actually I find the program quite ugly and hard-to-use.

I am a programmer, so I could write such a program from scratch, but I have no clue about how ROMs should be patched to make them work on the SC. So, if anybody can provide me info, or set me in contact with the developers, I'd be glad to give a try!

Cya next post :).

that would be nice... I think nobody has had much luck with getting the source from the supercard team though.

Using Debian, myself.

Well, even though I believe in free software, if the developers didn't want the sources released, I would stick with their will and just release binaries. It would just be something to make GNU/Linux users' life easier, allowing them not to have to switch to a non-free OS for such a trivial task.
