You may be referring to "clean dumps"  of DS games..  This means the rom is a direct dump of the original cartridge, not hacked or specially modified to work with a specific backup device.

Once you run a rom through the supercard's patching software, for instance, it is no longer a clean dump.

"clean ds" could also refer to an unmodified DS, that is one that has never had flashme installed on it.
