Ah yes, Sony is going all out in an effort to actually make a profit this year (go figure), and to bring the freshest downloadable content to PSN by employing the finest programmers found in all the Himalayas. Who needs Dave Jaffe when these guys will program for food and goats . . .

Actually, the above video is a spoof made by the guys who developed this recently released PSN game title. The Last Guy is a top-down 2D game with the object of guiding civilians to safety in monster infested cities. This game features high resolution satellite photography of actual cities from around the world. I played the demo and can tell you gameplay is very simple and yet surprisingly addictive. Don't take my word for it though as IGN gave The Last Guy an Editors' Choice Award and an outstanding score of 9.0 in this review . . .

My PS3 owning friend swears up and down that the IGN review was bought by SOny. He claims the game is maximum suckage. I can't personally comment on it because I haven't played but it does look interesting

Because The Last Guy is a top-down 2D style game it might not be appealing to some hardcore 3D gamers. I like the demo and plan on downloading the full version later tonight.

Yeah, I can easily see how it might not be for everyone.  I could see my 20 yr old brother-in-law might think it's "stupid" or whatever.  But it's something my wife could get obsessed with.  I think it's cool and plan to get the full version.
