I was looking at the website of PCjerry.co.uk and it was stated there that they have received a final batch of R4s and that no more are to be made.

Has anyone else heard this? There seems to be nothing about this on the R4 website.

unless you missed the boat then you don't get around to reading many posts on the R4 the main one being that they have CEASED PRODUCTION ... most probably due to the CEASE AND DESIST order by NINTENDO who took them to court with 57 software company's to sue the heck outta them  :(

Thanks- I certainly must have missed it, though I do remember the Nintendo action but I thought that this was just against companies selling the cards in Japan.

factories are out there too :(

What a shame.  R4 was certainly a popular flash cart.  They should have moved the factories to China though.  Supercard seems to be operating without much threat from Ninty and co.

I thought that's where the factories were in the first place...

Hmm... I thought R4 had a Japanese entity and I thought that was why they got slapped with legal charges by Ninty and co.

Although they have ceased production, does anyone know if they will still be doing software updates? There have been some games which could use a software update.

PharaohsVizier

Doesn't look like they'll update ever again, they haven't updated in months, sign that they've given up.

As you all know right now the only way to play some new roms is to use YSmenu (after 3hours finally got it to work last night) or by using the ARM7 fix, but after visiting http://www.r4team.com/eng/ i saw they now had a new 1.19 kernel out :D . Don't be too happy tho since its just the YSmenu that they are releasing as their new kernel which really sucks because i spent 3hours on making YSmenu work on my r4 when i could have just downloaded it from the r4team site. This might be old news to some of you but i'm sure there are afew who didn't know.

r4team.com= FAKE!

http://www.r4ds.cn = REAL

YSMENU is just using TTDS loader on R4 with fake skins etc

I was under the impression that http://www.r4sdhc.com/index-en.htm was the site for the fake R4.
