Ok so there are a few versions out there

Full version with update
Scrubbed version without update
Scrubbed version with update

There is alot of questions people have and mine is if you are playing it, what did you use and how did you do it. Also which version of firmware for wii are you using (i.e. 3.2u or 3.3u)? Also are your save functions working?

Scrubbed w/o update. 3.3u (without Shop Channel update) with a modchip using GeckoOS channel. GeckoOS appears to be the only way on 3.3u without using the backup loader or accepting the update.

Scrubbed without update, 3.3E firmware (downgraded IOS16) with cIOS installed on WiiGator's Backup Launcher v0.3 gamma. Using Launch Reboot to load on a PAL console. Everything is running fine so far, it's saving fine and I've encountered no in-game problems.

The game works but won't boot because it explicitly checks for the new version. That's why we have to use these weird booting techniques which trick the game into running.

does it not work if you install the ios that it needs? or is that mandatory even if you boot it through these techniques? im asking for the modchip people out there as mine is softmodded so i have to boot through backup loader anyways :)

If you have a chip and have 3.2U, you can run the scrubbed without update and it will work if you use the IOSPatcher-1.1  by Waninkoko and put in 30 as your choice. Then you just play as normal, no extra loader. And you can save this way.
