Cartridge inserted slanted: Solves SD not found error

I was checking out a friend's Supercard which kept returning an 'SD not found' error. I swapped the SD cards around and my SD card worked in the SC so I concluded that it was a problem with the SD. My little brother had a look at it and shoved the card in pressing the right side only and for some reason, it worked. The SD card works now only if the Supercard is pushed into the DS by the right side so that the left side of the SC sticks out 1mm more than the right; inserted slanted. Any idea why this is?
This occurs on my SC as well as my brother's, so it has to have something to do with the SD card.

Wow, that fixed my problem too... thats craziness... is it a messed up SC then do you think?... Now i am debating sending mine back...

Edit: Yeah I have to send it back - this is farrr too tempremental.. i cant get it to work again now after taking it out and putting it back in... very strange!

The same thing occurs on the same SD card on every Supercard, so I think it's something with the SD card.

Also found that it works if you push the SC to the right once it's already in. It only moves perhaps half a mm.
The problem is that the SD card does not go in enough. If you insert the SD and SC normally, before you turn it on, try pressing on the SD card so that it will go in a tiny bit more; it will work. If you're not too bothered by aesthetics, pad the outer side of your SD card with sticky tape or something and when it gets inserted into the DS, it will push your SD card in further.

Hmm, well perhaps my issue is slightly different then, it seems to happen regardless of how far in i push the Sd card, but only when the card is crooked in the GBA (then only ocasionally). Perhaps the card sits slightly different in the DS than the SP (which is what I have)... I am going to be picking up a DS later tonight so i'll reply with my experiances then :)...

Yes this def solves the problem.  I have 2 dif brands of SD and one needs this and the other doesnt.  Def has to do with the contacts on the SD cards.

What brands of SD have you found need this? Neither my Kingston or Sandisk ones wont work in mine (well i got them to work once - but now i am thinking it was a fluke). I tried padding like you did and it made no difference. Thanks.

It is your supercard that is making the problems. This probllem happned with me too. What i have done is i put a peice of paper in my supercard shell thingy to make it work. I would have returned to to where i bought it from. But im only 13 yrs old.....so my parents wouldnt do that for me....but anyways....i have scsd and i put a piece of paper so where the supercard has contact with the pin on the ds is slightly farther. My problem was that they were to close....funny thing is i fixed it yesterday...lol...it isnt my sd card that has been making problem either....cuz i have sandisk and toshiba 1gb and they both dint work....but i got it fixed without the slant
