hey all. I will be getting my supercard in 12 days for my 18th birthday and dont have one yet but just out of curiosity...does the E-book function support .pdf files?

No it doesn't you'll have to convert it to text.  And it doesn't bookmark so it's not very useful.  So far I like E-Book Advance.  I've been converting my .lit books to text.  You then paste that text into E-Book Advance's text file.  You have the option of adding chapter marks, etc.  Then you run a batch file and it takes the text and creates a .gba executable of the book.  Copy it to the CF and read it.  Next is crisp and easy to read, the program has lots of background/foreground color options.  You're current place in the book is always saved in sram.  Program doesn't like any of the quick access button combos the SC has though.  So when I'm done reading I turn off the GBA and turn right back on and then save to the CF card.

I've only used the horizontal version.  The scalable font version says you can read in different books stored as text.  I'll have to check that one out.

Any try any other ebook readers?

I use makebook it has image, linking, sound support but it's a little long to create the books.

I like Ebook Advance too.  I've read a couple books on the SC with it now.
I just downloaded and tried out Makebook.  Not bad.  I like Ebook Advance's controls better and the text looks crisper.

Just came across a new ebook reader that is quite good and free (thanks Sasq!)

Head over to http://www.pdroms.de/ and look in the news section for "Pixie GBA (06-07-2005) (GBA Application)" it has the stuff to convert html, .ebook and palm ebooks into its format

Book mark support is included too!

Funniest thing about it: its a port of the PSP version sasq did

Sorry to ask, but how do I convert text files to .book so that pixie can read them? Thanks.

EDIT : It says it support simple .txt files, and it seems it adds them to the rom, but when I load the road the txt files don't appear in the menu...

Get the Pixie tools, there's a program there to convert to .book.  I had some .lit books, converted them to HTML, then used the Pixe convert to make the .book files.  Once I get a font size and color scheme I like I'll probably start using this over E-Book Advance.
