I bought a used japanese graphite ds off of Ebay and it came to day. I noticed that when I turn it on with a ds cartridge in it automatically loads the game instead of going to the menu where you can choose the game or pictochat etc. My wives' silver us ds doesn't do this.

My initial thought is it might have flashme already installed (the health screen comes up but it could be stealth flashme I suppose). My sd supercard and superpass 2 haven't come yet...

So am I complete noob and there's and this is a option that can be changed?

Yes, this is an option. Go in to settings and choose the wrench icon. Select the top icon and the two options should be automatic or manual. Select manual.

That should take care of it.
