At GDC today they announced that Nintendo Revolution will not only include Nintendo's back catalog of games (NES, SNES, N64, GC) but it will also offer games from the Sega Genesis and Turbo Grafx 16!! SWEET SWEET NEWS!

That is so cool!

Does anyone know what sort of storage the Rev will have?
I heard that it will be using Flash Memory, and I also recall something about external expansion cards.

Do you think that we will be able to use our own Roms or just the downloaded ones?

If each mistake being made is a new one, then progress is being made.

It sure is cool, but if the revolution is mostly used to emulate, nes, super nes, genesis, turbo graph 16, I wont be buying one, I can do all that with my laptop, Xbox and even most of it with my good old dreamcast. I dont think that it's worth to buy a nexgen console to play old games, if I would get a revolution it would be for revolution games, like zelda, mario and others.

no one said you had to use the virtual console part of the system, its just and added feature that i know i, and plenty others, will enjoy using

If they are going to offer Sega games as well then some sort of emulator will be integrated in the system.
And an emulator needs roms to run.
I am sure it wont be just plain roms that one will download from their servers, but maybe somebody out there could create some kind of patcher to convert regular roms to be used with the revolution's built in emulators.....that would be awsome!!!!

No way!
I thougt the Rev couldn't be any better but I was wrong. GO SONIC!

I read that it will use a 512MB SD card for storage.

Quote from: "Haoie"I still say SNES emulation is where it's at.

At any rate, this is great news.  Nintendo knows what's good for gameplay.   8)

Whether they integrate certain chips or use software emulation if the Revolutuion can be hacked Emu support will be better than the xbox!

It'll most likely be software emulation.

atf487

why would you bother using hacked roms?

just pay for em them, unless they charge an obscene amount. but they really shouldn't; they could charge a dollar for nes games and get a 99 percent profit.

q_armando

I don't know about a dollar menu...a la McDonald !
I know though that they charged more then I was willing to pay for the classic Nes series on the GBA, therefore I would wait before guessing the price point.
