Hi everyone,

I just got my new Passme2 "PRO-S2" from "UnitedAmerica" on Ebay.  It was advertised as not needing a seperate DS card to work.  I think it is also referred to as a 2-z model but am unsure. There is no slot for a DS game to go inside of it like in the old Passme.  It is orange and says Passme2 on it. Inside the box it says in pen, "AVJJ" which I think refers to the game that is imaged on the card.

I am trying to get it to work with my old Supercard CF, running 1.61.

What I do is, use SuperCard 2.52 to convert the .nds file to 2 files: .dsq and .sav files.  This is using the default check boxes.  Then I copy these onto my Kingston 1 gig FAT CF card and put it in the DS.  I insert the Passme2 also then turn it on.  Result is two white screens.

Has anyone tried to get the Passme2 (non-DS game needing version) to work?  I have tried several different games... please help me.  This is making me miserable.

A PassMe2 isn't plug-and-play like a PassMe1, there's a certain procedure to it. First, get this file. Extract it, and put the .gba and .sav on your CF card. Load your SC in GBA mode without the PassMe2 and run the GBA. It will say something like "SRAM written." Put the PassMe about halfway into the DS slot, but not all the way in.

Do the following three steps very quickly - power off your DS, push the PassMe all the way in, and power back on. You should then see the Supercard DS logo on the bottom screen.

To avoid having to do all these steps in the future, you should follow this by installing FlashMe, so you don't even need your PassMe anymore.

Dude thank you, I am eager to try this as soon as I get home from workz.  :o)

I'm sure that I can find directions on how to use FlashMe somewhere on this forum, but is it worth the risk?

Do we have to reinstall FlashMe as new games come out/become supported?   What an incredible n00b I am...

As it stands now, you shouldn't have to upgrade FlashMe.

And it's totally worth it. With it installed, you don't have to go through that procedure I detailed every time you want to play DS homebrew or ROMs. Just don't let the battery fall or run out while you're flashing. I've flashed ~10 DSes, and every one went smoothly.

Edit: FlashMe directions are on the site. You just need to short that contact for about the first 30% of flashing. You can use a small screwdriver, a paper clip, or a toothpick with foil wrapped around the tip.

Uh-oh, this is really weird.  It worked once- but I can't replicate the results.

I wen:t ahead and followed the very clear directions you posted and got YoshiTouch n Go to run!  I was really happy and went ahead to watch LOST for a while.  :)

Then I came back to see if Phoenix Wright would work- deleted ytg.nds and added pwa.nds to the CF card.  Followed the directions and can see Supercard screen, but alas, loading the .nds made 2 white screens come up...  frozen.

I figured that Phoenix Wright was either a bad file or wasn't supported.  So I put Yoshi back on the card, with freshly unzipped copies of the AVJJ.gba and .sav files as buddies on the card.  Followed process again, but still white screens :(

I've tried reformatting the CF card and repeating the process.  Doing the steps faster didn't help- also tried the slow, methodical way and that didn't work either!  Maybe I am bad luck.  :o(

You are running your DS games through the Supercard patcher, aren't you?

yes, he's using the patcher.

and vegout619:  I have the passme 2-z also, and mine is also AVJJ (viewtiful joe scratch) from UnitedAmerica.  As long as you have the AVJJ-0.gba and AVJJ-0.sav in the root directory of your CF/SD it should work perfectly.

very strange.  I was going to say that maybe you didn't format to FAT16, but then I noticed that Yoshi didn't work even before reformatting (after phoenix wright).

If you are still able to boot into DS mode (supercard logo in bottom screen) then I would have to say that it sounds like the problem is with your supercard or your Compact Flash card.  Are any pins bent on the CF interface of your card?  Do you have another CF card to test with?

just trying to isolate the problem.

Hi Guys- thank you SO much for helping me out.  I got it to work.  What happened was, m2pt5 was TOTALLY right-

I had forgotten to put the .nds files through the Supercard patcher the 2nd time.

You were all very kind to help me.  I will keep an eye on these forums so that I can pass along this knowledge (and this thread) if I see anyone else having problems.

Thanks again.  This has made my day :)

The thing that prompted me to ask was that you said you tried to run "the .nds file" rather than the .nds.dsq (or just .dsq) file.

Good work, and enjoy all the games you don't have to buy.  :D
